Iridescent Glass Bead Earrings – Rotating Orb Goldtone Dangles – Atomic Modernist French Hooks

A rotating orb of iridescent glass appears to float inside each sculptural goldtone frame. The open, asymmetrical wire forms curve around frosted glass beads that shift among smoky blue, silvery green and muted gold as the light changes. Each bead is mounted on a horizontal bar and rotates freely, adding an unusual interactive element to the design. Small goldtone spheres finish the open ends of the frames, while elongated French hooks continue their sleek, flowing lines. One glass bead has a visible chip. Because the beads rotate, the damaged area can be turned toward the back while the earrings are worn. Please see the close-up photograph for the clearest view. The remaining glass and goldtone components are in excellent condition. The earrings measure approximately 1 3/4 inches long by 1 inch wide and have no markings. Curator’s Note Two tiny planets in private goldtone orbits. One has survived a minor celestial collision, but it can simply rotate the evidence out of sight—an ability many of us would appreciate.
