Handmade Lampwork Chicken and Egg Earrings – Whimsical Glass Bead French Hook Dangles – One of a Kind

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? These earrings place the egg on top and consider the matter settled. I created this wonderfully whimsical pair using dimensional lampwork glass beads. Each earring combines a white-and-black spotted chicken with bright red, yellow and black details, a sunny-side-up egg bead, antique-goldtone decorative spacers, a tiny amber-colored glass accent and a faceted black bead at the bottom. Goldtone French hooks complete the design, with clear safety backs included. The earrings measure approximately 2 1/8 inches long by 3/4 inch wide. These were handmade some time ago but have never been worn and remain in new condition. The slight variations between the two lampwork chickens are part of the charm of individually formed glass beads. Curator’s Note: The egg is balanced on the chicken, the chicken appears surprisingly calm about it, and breakfast has officially become wearable art. Handmade by the curator herself—because apparently simply collecting extraordinary earrings was not enough.
