Handmade Red Enamel Statement Earrings – Sculptural Metal Spiral Dangles – Oversized Artisan Earrings

These are not wallflowers. Huge, sculptural and wonderfully unconventional, these handmade earrings are formed from layers of cut and shaped metal that curl inward into dramatic open spirals. Rich translucent red enamel washes across the surfaces in shades of scarlet, russet, burnt orange and coppery red, while raised and irregular edges emphasize every handmade contour. The construction is fascinating. Multiple dimensional metal elements overlap and curl around one another, creating an almost molten appearance—part autumn leaf, part flame, part abstract flower. A smaller enameled metal element forms the post top, allowing the enormous lower section to articulate and move independently. And enormous they are. At approximately 3 3/8 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide, these were made for someone who believes subtlety is occasionally overrated.
