Vintage Wooden Hummingbird Earrings – Hand-Painted Button Conversion – Green Bird Statement Posts

Once charming wooden buttons, these colorful hummingbirds have been given wings—and a wonderful second life as earrings. Each lightweight wooden bird is cut into a lively hovering silhouette and painted by hand in layered shades of forest and yellow-green. Bright red throats, crisp white breasts, sunny yellow beaks and simple black feather details give them a wonderfully cheerful folk-art personality. Their original pairs of buttonholes remain visible on the front, an honest and delightful clue to their previous purpose. Goldtone post findings have been securely attached to the backs, transforming the matched buttons into bold, lightweight statement earrings. They measure approximately 1 1/2 inches tall by 1 1/8 inches wide and are in excellent vintage condition with no markings. Curator’s Note Proof that a good hummingbird should never be limited to a buttonhole. These two have been promoted—and they appear extremely pleased with their new position.
