Hand Cast Sterling Silver Amethyst Earrings | Artisan Openwork Purple Gemstone Dangles

These wonderful artisan earrings have all the character of jewelry made by hand rather than stamped out by the thousands. Each earring features a genuine purple amethyst cabochon, Presidium-tested, held at the center of an elaborate hand-cast sterling silver openwork setting. Curling forms, pierced openings and small looped details surround the stone, creating an unusual design with hints of folk art, Gothic revival and old-world silverwork. The reverse is nearly as interesting as the front, showing the subtle surface texture and slight irregularities left by the casting process—wonderful evidence of their handmade construction. The earrings are unmarked, but the bodies have been tested and confirmed as sterling silver. They have now been fitted with sterling silver French hook ear wires, making the earrings sterling throughout. They remain in excellent condition, with attractive natural patina and richly colored amethyst cabochons. Measurements: approximately 1 5/8 inches long by 3/4 inch wide.
