1960s Victorian Revival Black Glass Clip On Earrings – Faux Pearl Rhinestone Ornate Silvertone
Richly detailed and wonderfully dramatic, these vintage clip-on earrings capture the romantic excess of the 1960s Victorian Revival era. Each earring centers on a large faceted black glass stone surrounded by elaborate antiqued silvertone scrollwork, tiny faux pearls and sparkling clear rhinestones. The layered metalwork gives them wonderful depth and an almost antique-jewel appearance. They are substantial enough to make a statement, yet compact enough to remain beautifully wearable. These are in good vintage condition. The fronts present very nicely, with some expected wear to the silvered finish on the backs consistent with age and use. Vintage clip-on earrings Circa 1960s Victorian Revival styling Faceted black glass center stones Faux pearl accents Clear rhinestones Antiqued silvertone metal Approximately 1 1/8 inches tall Approximately 7/8 inch wide Good vintage condition Some wear to the silvering on the backs No markings Curator’s Note These look as though they should have come with a velvet gown, a sweeping staircase and at least one family secret. The black glass, pearls and elaborate metalwork are gloriously theatrical — exactly what Victorian Revival jewelry was supposed to be.
