Vintage 1980s Celestial Leather Chandelier Clip Earrings

Extraordinary vintage wearable-art earrings constructed from layers of shaped and embossed leather decorated with goldtone dome studs. Their articulated chandelier design is loaded with movement, including brass spiral discs, tiny shooting-star charms and multiple metallic leather drops. Each scalloped leather top is centered with an aurora borealis rhinestone surrounded by a coiled brass-tone ornament. Metallic gold, bronze and muted mauve finishes give the leather a wonderfully aged, almost archaeological appearance. These unsigned clip-on earrings appear to be handmade or produced in a small artisan workshop. They remain in good vintage condition with age-related rubbing, finish wear and patina that complement their dramatic, handcrafted character. Measurements: 3 3/4 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide.
