Vintage Teal and Gold Statement Earrings – Ornate Medallion Square Post Earrings

Deep teal blue-green plastic forms the softly rounded square base of these bold vintage statement earrings. Each is topped with an ornate goldtone metallized-plastic medallion featuring a central flower surrounded by raised paisley-like scrollwork and beaded detailing. The pairing of cool jewel-toned teal with elaborate gold creates a striking, almost Byzantine appearance. Their dimensional construction and generous size are characteristic of late 1980s to early 1990s fashion, when earrings were expected to contribute meaningfully to the conversation. These unsigned post-style earrings are in excellent vintage condition and measure approximately 1 3/8 inches square. Curator’s Note: From the glorious era when earrings, shoulder pads and ambition were all expected to be noticeably large.
