Vintage Sterling Silver Modernist Screwback Earrings – Abstract Sculptural Mid Century Style

Small in scale but wonderfully artistic, these vintage sterling silver screwback earrings feature an unusual abstract, biomorphic design that feels distinctly Modernist. Each earring has an irregular softly squared form with raised borders, recessed oxidized areas and an applied freeform line curling around a small dimensional silver accent. The result is almost like a miniature abstract painting rendered in metal. The naturally darkened recesses emphasize all that wonderful relief and texture, giving the earrings considerably more presence than their petite measurements would suggest. They are marked STERLING and retain their original screwback fittings. The earrings are in very good vintage condition, with age-appropriate patina that contributes beautifully to their character.
