Hand Carved White Giraffe Earrings – Hand Painted Wood French Hook Dangles

Wonderfully whimsical white giraffes dangle from these hand-carved and hand-painted earrings. Each sculptural wooden giraffe has a slightly different shape and personality, with sparse black coat markings, tiny carved legs and an endearingly folk-art appearance. Natural wood beads connect the figures to silvertone French hooks. Their unusual white coloring gives this safari favorite an unexpected graphic quality while preserving every bit of its animal charm. The earrings are in excellent condition with no maker’s markings—although the giraffes themselves are modestly marked about the neck, body and legs. They measure approximately 2 1/2 inches long by 1 inch wide. Curator’s Note: The autumn migration of the white giraffe has never been formally documented. Fortunately, we have secured photographic evidence.
