Handmade Pottery Bead Earrings – Colorful Ceramic Statement Dangles – Artisan Whimsical French Hook Earrings

These earrings appear to have rejected symmetry on artistic grounds. Wonderfully unusual pierced earrings are assembled from an eclectic stack of hand-painted pottery and ceramic beads in cobalt blue, white, black, green, orange and pale blue. Each earring combines several different shapes and patterns, including rounded beads, flattened discs, blocky forms and tiny floral-patterned accent beads. The beads are strung vertically on cord beneath goldtone French hook ear wires, creating a long sculptural dangle with a distinctly handmade, folk-art personality. Because of the handmade bead shapes and cord construction, the earrings do not hang perfectly straight, but rather settle with a slight natural irregularity when worn. I consider that part of their wonderfully unconventional character, but it is reflected in the description. They measure approximately 2 3/4 inches long by 3/4 inch wide. Very good condition with light age-appropriate wear and no maker’s markings noted. Curator’s Note These look as though someone emptied a very interesting artist’s bead drawer onto the table and said, “Yes. All of them.”
