Mexican Abalone Mosaic Articulated Drop Earrings

Brilliant blue enamel and flashes of iridescent abalone give these dramatic Mexican earrings their unmistakable presence. Each elongated teardrop is composed of four individually linked sections, allowing the silvertone metal and shell mosaic to move, shimmer, and catch the light as they are worn. Crafted from traditional alpaca metal and marked ALPACA MEXICO, the earrings are finished with French hooks. Please note that alpaca is a silvertone metal alloy and is not sterling silver. They measure approximately 2 3/4 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches wide and are in excellent condition. Curator’s Note These earrings reward a second look. The vivid blue enamel emphasizes every shifting green, rose, and violet tone in the abalone, while the articulated construction brings the entire mosaic to life.
