A pair of pink horses with blue polka dots, aqua manes and purple collars? Clearly, ordinary stable rules do not apply here. These wonderfully whimsical earrings feature individually handmade clay horses suspended beneath simple goldtone ball posts. Each horse has its own endearing personality, with applied pastel details and the charming irregularities expected of hand-shaped artwork. Their soft pink, lavender and aqua coloring gives them the look of tiny folk-art carousel ponies. Each horse measures approximately 1 1/8 inches high by 1 inch wide. The earrings are in very good vintage condition with no maker’s marks. Because they were handmade, slight differences in shape, texture and decoration are part of their original character rather than flaws. Curator’s Note: These may be the only horses in existence that coordinate equally well with a carousel, a candy shop and an Easter basket. They are ridiculously sweet—and they know it.
